I’ve started a collection of poems called: “The Morning Raven Report”

Today’s report:

The glaucous winged gulls are back working the tide line. One of their favorite delicacies is starfish! They are easy to catch. They don’t scurry away. Once the gull has the five legged critter in her beak she just stands there sort of stunned. It’s as if she’s thinking “now what?” But then with a couple of gulps the starfish finds its way into her throat. A large tumor like lump bulges from the gulls white feathered neck. Other gulls wander past foraging for mussels and clams. She stands frozen on kelp. Then the starfish seems to soften and work it’s way into the gull’s stomach. Satisfied and perhaps even a bit smug, she waddles over and joins the others.
